there comes a time in every girl's life when she gets tired of fooling around.
juggling hearts, in a 3-ring circus can someday drive a body down to the ground.
i never imagined that love would rain on me and make me wanna settle down.
oh baby it's true, i think i do and i just wanna tell you, that i want to with you.
(sing it to the tune of prince's 'forever in my life', in fact these are the lyrics to said song, just substituted 'girl' for 'man' in the first line- I LURVE YOU PRINCE!)
onwards, this morning a cab driver called me aunty, and i've recently returned from Lucknow where everyone calls you some variant of sister, didi or behen.
now, i'm not particular about being called either, thank goodness- but i do wonder which camp to personally subscribe to...
at work unfortunately, almost everyone calls me madam (i would die a little bit every time i heard it when i started out, but not any more) but, to be fair, we really don't have an Indian variant to 'excuse me'. which means that the average 'mid-twenties to any-age' woman gets subjected to all of the above imbued with any of a wide range of emotions from the sneer to really icky obsequiousness (oooh! 'longest word in blog' moment!) so,
adam! i'm not madam
nor sister, aunty, none of them!
(need help finishing this limerick... ideas are welcome)
i'd answer 'why the title?', and tell you more about me; but then we'd have to be friends. let's save that that for later, shall we?

if it's a girl, we'll call her manori. if it's a boy, we'll call him marve.
hello fellos
hiatuses are now the norm, so i shall stop being apologetic about them. (in case you're wondering, my first reaction was to go with 'hiatii', but wiktionary saved me- huzzah!)
all afore-mentioned plans are still afoot, the house-hunting, the secret thing becoming un-secret, the weight loss (i would exclaim LMAO at this point, but my arse is not that easy to laugh off, sigh)
so essentially, i seem to be running very fast to stay in one place.
let's have a poem then, shall we?
watched New Moon*, oh Taylor! swoon!
read Breaking Dawn till the break of dawn
watched Paa**, thought it was blah
'cept Amitabh was disguised, hurrah hurrah!
so, in order: girlie porn, an early morn and mostly yawns
(oh! by the way, the title of this post refers to an amazeballs*** trip to Manori to celebrate Kalpu's heb'berday)
P.S.es
* the movie was jenng, i.e. rather rubbishy; except for the hot bods! thank you taylor, thank you robert!
** why the fuck is so much english spoken in Paa??? abhishek bachan made for the MOST unconvincing Indian MP in all cinematic history!
*** i would tell you what it means, but it's kalpu's invention; and besides, you've probably already figured it out. cause you're smart like that :D

adventures in real-estate
heya, long-pending update.
the secret thing is becoming more un-secret, my friends know (hurrah!) and some more people require inducting, but I'm not sweating it. weight lost- 0! probably cause i haven't done a damn thing about it... so that story is essentially a non-starter.
more importantly, I want to move out of my place and that's been the major mind-muncher this last week.
the heart lifts and dips with each place i'm shown, and i'm mostly grouchy as a result. Fish says i should see like, tons of places before i take a call- dunno if my heart will survive the strain *rolls eyes dramatically*
i shall keep you posted, meanwhile i will leave work early this evening to trawl some more houses for my new home... wish me luck.

the crossroads
so i have this big daunting thing inside me. it's a secret thing, so only i can know its gnawing and growing hugeness.
one of the things The Secret Thing is pushing me to do is lose weight (i am imagining liz' eyebrows flying upwards at this; but i can explain dearest ooompopo, so hold that brow)
which means i was up this morning at 7am. i contemplated what i will do tomorrw morning- exercise-wise, then i used the extra time to read the paper and make myself a healthy breakfast (dalia-porridge, if you must know)
The (daunting) Secret Thing is also making other smaller, more insidious changes that are scary and take up much imagination-bandwidth; i'm desperately waiting for the secret thing to become an un-secret thing so i can hair-split and discuss it to ordinariness... sigh!
if nothing else- i shall strive to post about my strife. wish me luck my lovelies.
